The Loyalty Audit
A workbook for the debts you never agreed to
A$2931 pages, fillable PDF
What it is for
Some of what you call your values are debts. You are paying them to people who never sent an invoice, and some of those people are dead. For the family book of accounts: who sacrificed, who owes, who is allowed to leave, and what it costs.
Inside
- Why success feels like guilt and rest feels like abandonment
- Twenty loyalties to rate
- Value or debt: what each loyalty protected
- The loyal act, not the loyal sacrifice
- Seven days of practice and your audit on one page
- A worked example on every exercise
You might be here if
- You were the responsible one, the easy one, or the one who held things together.
- Success feels a little like guilt, and rest feels like leaving someone behind.
- You hold back from being happier than the people who raised you, without quite knowing why.
- You want to keep the love and stop paying the debt.
The worked example
Nell, 35, is the eldest of four. Her father left when she was nine. Her mother worked nights. Nell got the younger ones up, fed, and to school for seven years. She describes herself as responsible, and she says it with pride. When she was promoted last year she didn't tell her mother for three weeks. She couldn't say why.
From the pages
What position did you hold in your family?
Write the job description. What were your duties? What were you not allowed to do?
What is the smallest loyal act you could do this week that isn't a sacrifice?
Did anyone you were protecting actually need protecting? What did they say or do?

A support structure, not a replacement
