Beyond who is right
Most couples arrive stuck in a loop: the same argument, different night. Counselling helps you step out of the content of the fight and see the pattern underneath it - the nervous-system reactions, the attachment fears, the unmet needs that drive how you each respond.
When you can see the pattern together, it stops being you against each other and becomes the two of you against the dynamic. That shift changes everything.
How I work with couples
Sessions are grounded in attachment theory and polyvagal-informed practice. We work on communication that actually lands, repair after rupture, and rebuilding trust and connection at a pace that feels safe for both of you.
The initial session runs for two hours so we have time to understand your relationship properly. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes.
In person or online
Couples sessions are available in person in Carlton, Melbourne, or online if you are in different locations or prefer to meet from home.
Common questions
Do you offer marriage and relationship counselling?
Yes. Couples counselling covers marriages, de facto and dating relationships, and couples deciding whether to stay together. The work is the same: understanding the pattern between you and learning to repair.
How much does couples counselling cost?
The first session is $220 and runs for two hours. Ongoing sessions are $180 for 60 minutes. The longer first session gives each of you time to be heard before we look at the pattern between you.
What if my partner is not sure about coming?
That is common, and it is worth saying out loud. A free 15-minute discovery call can be a low-pressure way for both of you to hear how I work before committing to anything.
Do we have to be in crisis to come?
No. Some couples come in the middle of conflict. Others come because they feel themselves drifting, or they want more depth before something breaks. Earlier is usually easier.
Can we do couples counselling online?
Yes. Sessions run in person in Carlton or online, including when you are in different places.
